Plaster, fabric, 2021

The installation "White" was created based on the forms of the Imperial Porcelain Factory's tableware, whose dishes hold a place in Russia's cultural heritage. In this case, the author approaches it as a specimen of past tradition, reproducing molds and creating unique skeletal structures from them. The artist engages with the mold as an object that lacks intrinsic value on its own, unlike the original from which it was made. In this context, the mold is a kind of "nothing," a module for creating something else. On the other hand, each mold possesses its own uniqueness. Devoid of utilitarian purpose, it transcends into a different dimension of the object's value and function. In turn, for the author, this method of multiplying forms serves as a kind of archiving.

The installation was presented at the group exhibition “Corpus Callosum” in Sevkabel Port, St. Petersburg, in 2021
